LONG DISTANCE HIKING GEAR | Wild Camping Gear | Lightweight Wild Camping Kit
With just two days to go before my next long distance hike UK, it’s time to start packing my wild camping gear!
I’ve been asked, as a wild camping female .. what’s in my backpack? After hitting long distance hiking trails for a while now, have I managed to get my base weight of my backpack down?
What lightweight wild camping gear have I picked up along the way? In this video I will be doing a full gear load out, which will show you what to pack for a camping trip, what wild camping essentials have I chosen to upgrade over the years?
My first long distance trail was The West Highland Way, which I completed with no experience, a 20kg pack and a £30 pop up tent! But I still had the most amazing experience!
You do not need really expensive wild camping kit to enjoy yourself, however.. due to a knee injury I sustained on the Snowdonia Way Mountain Route, and some old back injuries .. I have needed to try and get my base weight down over the years.
Many of the items in my packing list I have bought second hand off eBay, and they are fantastic! Sometimes you can grab a real bargain for very little if you know what your looking for 😃
Some of the items I have in my pack for this trip
Tent – Big Agnes Copperspur
Sleeping pad – Robens Trailguard 38
Sleeping bag – Mountain Equipment Helium 600
Water Filter – Katadyn Befree 1 litre
Backpack – Osprey Fairview 55
Camera – I phone 13 pro max
Filming case – Iographer
Tripod – Manfrotto off-road
